Tutorial of iFreeUp

iOS is such a high-efficiency system that enables Apple users to have a better experience than users of other device. However, you still need to manage your iOS device well to boost performance of your devices. Here is the best recommendation for you, which is called iFreeUp. With help of the program, you can manage your iOS devices on PC directly so that you can detect and clean junk files in one click. In addition, the program enables you to remove large files, prevent privacy leak by shredding deleted files, and transfer files between iOS devices and PC.

Quick Clean Screen

Note: At the very beginning, you need to install iTunes in your PC and then connect your iOS device to PC before using iFreeUp. Here I will take iPad as an example to show you the Quick Start Guide.

When launching iFreeUp, the first screen you will see is the Quick Clean Screen.

Here, you can choose to clean all junk files from your iPad with just one click. As you can see here, there are five kinds of junk files, which are Junk Files Clean, Privacy Sweep, Privacy Anti-theft, Photo Shred and Performance Optimize respectively. All these five kind of junk files are checked by default, and you can click “SCAN” button in the right to start the scan. Also, you can choose the kind of junk files you need to scan while not all the 5 kind of junk files by hand. Here is detailed information about the five junk files:

Junk Files Clean: This is to clean various kinds of games and app caches and useless files deeply.
Privacy Sweep: This is to scan and erase your private files such as app cookies, activity history and logs smartly.
Privacy Anti-theft: This is to prevent privacy leak and theft by shredding everything selected powerfully.
Photo Shred: This is to shred your cached and deleted photos to prevent photos leak.
Performance Optimize: This is to clean system logs and app crash logs to boost app launch speed and your experience.

iPad Health: This will show you all status of your iOS device, which including Unknown, Perfect, Fair and Poor. You can move your cursor over the text to view the summarized performance report of your iOS device directly.

Tom's iPad: Here you can see the owner name and space usage of the connected iOS device.
Activate Now: By clicking the button “Activate Now”, you can launch the registration window below.

Then you need to register the Pro edition of the iFreeUp. Here are two methods: the first method is to click the text of “Enter License” and enter your license code; the second method is to click the button “Active Now” to purchase a license code online now. With the Pro edition, you can click the extra link “Manage License”, which is besides “Active Now”, to view/refresh/export your license.


Scan Result Screen

After choosing the junk files you want to free up, please click the button “CLEAN”. The program will start to delete junk files for your iPad or other iOS device automatically to free up space of your iOS device.

You can also view detailed information of scanned junk files by clicking scan-result2 For example, below picture shows you scanned result of Junk Files Clean.

In the detailed result screen, you can check files one by one. If there are some items you want to keep, just right click the items and choose to ignore the app as the following picture. You can then see ignored apps displayed in the “Ignore List”. (You can turn to the “Settings” part to find more.)

Just wait for a few minutes. When the clean process is finished, please click the button “DONE” in the right to go back to the screen of “Quick Clean”.

File Manager Screen

In the screen of “File Manager”, you can manage your Apps, Photos, Music, Videos, Podcasts and iBooks in detail. For example, you can see detailed size of the items respectively in right side of the item. By clicking certain item, for example Apps, you can see all apps in your iPad displayed in the right side of the screen with exact sizes.

In the bottom of the screen, you can see three options, which are Import, Export and Safe Delete respectively.

Import: This is to help you import files from PC to your iPad and other iOS device.
Export: This is to help you export chosen items from your iPad and other iOS device to your PC.
Safe Delete: This is to help you delete chosen items from your iPad and other iOS device in a safe manner.

With the three features, you can easily export your apps, music, photos, podcasts, videos and iBooks to your PC, and then either to delete them in your iOS device to free up more spaceor import them to your other iOS devices with ease. In the later time, you can also choose to import these items to your iPad and other iOS devices again at any time.

On the top right corner, you can click search-apps to search certain apps you need in a quick way.
You can also click list on the top right corner to change the view between icon and list with ease.


More Settings

On the top right corner of the Quick Clean screen, you can see the More Settings icon more-settings-drop; you can also bring up the icon by clicking the File Manager screen. Then you can see more options including “Settings”, “What's New”, “Send Feedback”, “Technical Support”, “Check for Updates”, “User Manual”, “IObit Online” and “About” respectively.

In the screen, you can see four columns on the left side, including “General”, “Logs”, “Notifications” and “Ignore List” respectively. If you are not sure which options to choose, you can click recommended to restore the default settings.

Note: After making the changes, please click the button “Apply” to save your modifications.

General

The first column is the “General”. By clicking it, you can make the setting of “Current Language”, “Skip User Account Control Warning”, “Secure Deletion” (it is for Pro users only), and “File Manager” respectively. Please click “Apply” after making the changes.

Logs

The second column is the “Logs” one, which provides you the settings for the logs generated by iFreeUp. You can check the “Automatically save the logs after clean” option so that the program can save the clean logs for you automatically.
In bottom of the screen are three options: View Log, Clear All and Delete, and you can choose any one to manage your logs better.
You can also click the link Open Log Folder to see all the logs stored in that folder.

Notification

By clicking the “Notification” column, you will bring up five options in the right column of the screen.

The first option is “Enable device connection notification”, which will inform you the change when your iOS device is connected to PC.
The second option is “Enable cleanup connection notification before deleting files from File Manager”, which will inform you the change when you want to delete files in File Manager.
The third option is “Enable notification for export”, which will inform you the change when you start to export files in File Manager.
The forth option is “Enable notification for import”, which will inform you the change when you start to import files in File Manager.
The last option is “Enable notification for delete”, which will inform you the change when you decide to delete files in File Manager.

Ignore List

By clicking the “Ignore List”, you can bring up all apps that you ignored when you run “Quick Clean”.
In iFreeUp, you can also choose multiple items and remove them at one time by clicking combinations keys “Ctrl” and “Shift” with ease.
